In 2011, Lake Breeze undertook one of the largest solar projects in the Australian Wine industry. Solar provider ZEN Energy Systems, installed a 30 kW solar unit consisting of 156 panels on the north facing roof of the winery.
The power generated offsets all of the electricity used for the winery, cellar door and office. It was a considerable undertaking and a fantastic investment in the future.
It is not only environmentally responsible but will actually be a cost saving for us in the medium to long term.
Our Lake Breeze vineyard has been certified as a Freshcare Environmental Vineyard.
Freshcare is an industry owned, not-for-profit on-farm assurance program, established and maintained to service the Australian fresh produce industry.
Tim has undertaken a comprehensive audit and ticked all the boxes!
All wines produced by Lake Breeze including the Bullant and False Cape labels are vegan and vegetarian friendly.
At Lake Breeze a minimal intervention approach is taken with all of our wines, with most receiving no filtration and fining at all.
With the small amount of fining undertaken we have a commitment to avoid using any animal based fining agents.
