Museum Release 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon

2012 is revered as one of the most outstanding in Langhorne Creek. The 2012 Cabernet cleaned up at the Perth Wine Show with 3 trophies and we picked up a fourth trophy when the five entered wines gained the highest average points of all exhibitors at the show.  

A comprehensive article penned by Jane Faulkner back in 2014, when our 2012 Cab was a current release: 

"Lake Breeze’s winemaker Greg Follett is pretty chuffed with the 2012 vintage, arguably the best in the past decade or so. The cabernet fruit is sourced from 40-year-old vines on his property and it turns into this fragrant and delicious – if youthful – wine. It smells really good and enticing, with blackberries and brambleberries, earthy, dusty with chocolate and floral notes, lots of spice with the oak characters just poking a bit, but they will continue to amalgamate. Super fresh and lively, the tannins are refined and ripe, there’s some appealing sweet-sour fruit too, with good acidity, although still tight on the palate, but that's not surprising, given its youth. Cabernet sauvignon often needs bottle-age to reveal all its beauty, as this does. If you want to try it now – and why not given it’s really good value – then let it breathe all day if possible and match it with a spicy lamb tagine for dinner."
