2021 THE DRAKE - TO BE RELEASED SEPTEMBER 2026
This 10th release of The Drake is a blend of cabernet 75% and shiraz 25%. This wine is blended from the absolute finest few barrels of the vintage.
The grapes were carefully selected from 50 to 60 year old vines on the famous Bremer flood plain, where the Follett family have been growing grapes for over 130 years.
Small open fermenters were used with maceration times varying from 8-12 days followed by maturation in new French oak for 20 months prior to bottling unfined and unfiltered.
The resultant wine shows blackcurrant, liquorice violets, subtle mint and cedar. It has amazing depth and silkiness and a long seamless finish.
With correct cellaring this wine will drink for 20 years and beyond.
