Our 2026 harvest started 3 weeks later and finished 4-5 weeks later than last year with our last reds not pressed out until the 6th of May.
This vintage provided some of the best crops we have had in several years with good bunch numbers and fruit set. The cool erratic spring meant flowering was delayed and resulted in a later start to vintage, despite a couple of heat spikes through January and early February.
There were some worrying moments with forecast rains, but other than delaying ripening these had no negative impact on quality with a warm dry finish to April, ripening the cabernet beautifully.
The long slow ripening has meant great flavour development and ripe tannins across the reds, whilst the whites retain acidity beautifully.
Another excellent vintage highlighting Langhorne Creek’s ability to make a diversity of wine styles.
