Grapes for Good winners at the 2023 Great Wine Capitals Best of Wine Tourism Awards!

We are thrilled to announce our 'Grapes for Good' Wine Trail initiative with Monarto Safari Park has picked up the Tourism Collaboration Excellence award at Adelaide’s 2023 Great Wine Capitals Best of Wine Tourism Awards.  Adelaide's CheeseFest hosted the award presentation on the opening night of the festival.

Working closely together, six Langhorne Creek wineries launched this conservation project in November 2021 and have donated over $30,000 to help conservation programs for endangered species at Monarto Safari Park, while also encouraging wine lovers to experience more of our local wine region.

Each of our wineries has a wine aligned with an endangered animal.  We have paired our Bernoota with the Bongo.  For each bottle of Bernoota sold, we donate part of the proceeds towards saving the Bongo in their natural habitat.

Launched in November 2021, Grapes for Good is a partnership between six leading Langhorne Creek wine producers and Zoos SA which supports the conservation efforts underway at nearby Monarto Safari Park. The Grapes for Good trail is designed to entice visitors to stay longer and experience more of Langhorne Creek on their visit.
Each winery stop provides a unique experience or point of difference for visitors to enjoy, including gin and wine flights at Bremerton, Meechi brewing at the Winehouse, the award-winning restaurant at Lake Breeze, the rooftop viewing deck at Kimbolton Wines, Fleurieu Chocolate and luxury skin products at Vineyard Road and visiting the 1892 red gum press at Bleasdale Wines.
To date, the Grapes for Good wine trail has donated over $30,000 to help endangered species at the Monarto Safari Park. The Grapes for Good wines are also sold through the Zoos SA retail stores at both the Adelaide Zoo and Monarto Safari Park, further promoting the trail and wines from the Langhorne Creek Wine Region.
